This Month’s Bible Study
Growing Together Around God’s Word
One of the greatest blessings of the Christian life is growing together through Scripture.
As we continue building the Still Believe. Just Tired. Membership, our long-term vision is to provide monthly Bible studies taught by Mark C. Overton and created specifically for believers who still believe—but feel spiritually weary, discouraged, or overwhelmed.
Until those studies begin, we’re grateful to feature a trusted Bible study from a fellow Christian teacher. With permission, we’re sharing this resource as a temporary way to help our community remain rooted in God’s Word while we build our own teaching ministry.
Rather than simply watching the study, I invite you to learn alongside me.
Together, we’ll:
- Grow in biblical literacy.
- Learn to interpret Scripture more accurately.
- Strengthen our confidence in God’s Word.
- Encourage one another through honest discussion.
-
Build a foundation for future Still Believe. Just Tired. Bible studies designed specifically for this community.
This Month’s Featured Bible Study
Biblical Literacy: It Is Not the Lord’s Prayer
Many Christians have recited Matthew 6 for years without realizing Jesus was giving His disciples a model for prayer, not simply words to repeat.
In this month’s study, we’ll explore the biblical context behind one of Scripture’s most familiar passages and discover how understanding God’s Word more accurately leads to deeper faith, richer prayer, and greater confidence in following Christ.
As believers who desire to grow, biblical literacy helps us move beyond familiar verses toward understanding what God intended to teach through His Word.

Reflection Questions
After completing this month’s study, spend a few minutes reflecting on God’s Word.
- What did I learn about prayer that I had never considered before?
- How does understanding the context of Scripture strengthen my faith?
- Have I ever confused religious tradition with what the Bible actually teaches?
- What changes can I make in my own prayer life because of this study?
- What is one biblical truth I want to remember this week?
Prayer
Father,
Thank You for giving us Your Word to teach, correct, encourage, and transform us. Give us hearts that desire not only to know Scripture but also to understand it faithfully. Help us grow in wisdom, deepen our relationship with You through prayer, and apply Your truth in our daily lives. May Your Word continue to renew our minds and strengthen our faith.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Growing Together
I’d love to hear what stood out to you during this month’s study.
Share your biggest takeaway, a favorite Scripture, or one way God challenged your thinking. Your reflections encourage other members while also helping shape future Still Believe. Just Tired. Bible studies that will be created specifically for this community.
Looking Ahead
This featured study is part of our journey toward building a complete library of Still Believe. Just Tired. Bible studies.
In the months ahead, these featured studies will gradually transition to original monthly Bible studies taught by Mark C. Overton and created exclusively for members. Thank you for growing with us as we build a community centered on biblical encouragement, sound doctrine, and practical next faithful steps.
Together, we’re learning not only to read God’s Word—but to understand it faithfully and live it courageously.
